Connecting India's Energy Future

Advancing Private Sector Power Transmission

EPTA - Bringing It Together

The Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA), established in 2012, is a registered industry body representing leading private electricity transmission developers and stakeholders across India.

It serves as a unified platform to safeguard the interests of transmission companies, facilitate industry dialogue, and engage with regulators and policymakers to promote reliable, efficient, and sustainable power transmission throughout the nation.

Pratik Agarwal President EPTA
Message from the President

As India accelerates its energy transition and works toward ambitious renewable energy targets, the importance of a robust and future-ready transmission network has never been greater. Transmission infrastructure will play a defining role in ensuring reliable power delivery and enabling the seamless integration of clean energy across the country.

To support the timely development of this critical infrastructure, the Energy and Power Transmission Association (EPTA) was established as a collective platform representing India’s leading private transmission developers. The association seeks to bring industry experience and perspectives together to engage constructively with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders in strengthening the country’s transmission ecosystem.

Private sector participation has already accelerated transmission development by bringing investment, innovation, and execution capability to the sector. Through EPTA, the industry will continue to contribute to building the resilient and future-ready grid required for India’s growth.

Mr. Pratik Agrawal (Chairman, Resonia)
President, EPTA

MR. UPADHYAYA DG EPTA
Message from the Director General

As Director General of EPTA, I am committed to advancing a progressive and coordinated transmission agenda for India, consistent with the objective of effective and efficient evacuation of Renewable Energy, duly ensuring Grid stability.

Through policy engagement, industry collaboration, and strategic advocacy, we aim to strengthen the sector’s efficiency and reliability, ensuring a level playing field for private sector players, and supporting the nation’s energy transition goals in a timely, sustainable, and cost-effective manner.

Ensuring active engagement of State Governments for promoting Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for intra-state projects and quick resolution of problems at the ground level will be another priority area for me.

Another very important area would be timely and effective engagement with the Regulator, both at Central and State levels to sustain private sector investment and promote competition.

Finally, the Role of the media in highlighting relevant issues of the Industry on a consistent basis would be paramount in achieving the objectives outlined above.

Shri G P Upadhyaya (IAS, Retd)
Director General, EPTA
